BARNSLEY DOG TRAINING SPECIALISE IN PROBLEM DOGS & PUPPIES

Some trainers believe that giving a dog treats is the best way to train but in our opinion relying on treats exclusively just does not work. Your dog may learn how behave but only does it at because there's a treat at the end of it and many times treats just stop working. Essentially you are bribing the dog to behave properly. Treats can be used to reward good behaviour but not to entice your dog to behave properly.

We use correction and reward and eventually treats can be phased out and a simple show of affection to your dog when it behaves properly is all that’s needed.

Rob Dye’s training is based on his ten years experience and knowledge gained from working with some of the best dog trainers in the world.

Training your dog in obedience is fun for your dog and fun for you. Barnsley dog training teach all the basic commands such as "sit" and "down" as well as focused heeling and much more.

The video shows just what we can achieve. Of course, it's just as important for the owner to be able to achieve the same results so Rob Dye ensures that you are confident with the commands so that you follow up with the training.

  • Heel Work – dog will be taught to walk to heel on the lead without pulling.
  • Heel Work – dog will be taught to walk to heel off the lead ignoring other dogs.
  • Recall - Your dog will return to you when called.
  • Down – dog will be taught to “down” on command and remain in this position until released.
  • Down – Your dog will ignore other dogs when in the "down".
  • Sit – dog will sit at the owner’s side as soon as they stop moving without a command.
  • Come – dog will come to the owner in the “frontal sit” position.

Training a your puppy should start as soon as possible. Barnsley dog training  gives the right foundations from the start. We do not do classes as frankly, we feel that one to one with your new dog is much more effective and quicker. Your puppy will not be distracted by other puppies and we are able to work with you exclusively so that you can follow up the training.

  • Toilet Training - we will show you the easiest way to toilet train your puppy
  • Crate Training - we will show you how to crate train your puppy
  • Biting - we will show you how to stop "mouthing" or biting
  • Destructive Behaviour - we will show you how to stop destructive behaviour

PLACES TO WALK YOUR DOG IN YORKSHIRE

Many towns do not allow dogs to walk off the lead.

This understandable but but allowing your dog the freedom to run off the lead is great fun for your dog.

Obviously, being able to recall your dog is very important and this is one area that we focus on in our dog training.

Once this is achieved, luckily, there are some really good places where your dog can be allowed to run free in Yorkshire. CLICK HERE FOR A LIST OF DOG FRIENDLY WALKS

DOG FRIENDLY COTTAGES

Rather than put your dog in kennels, why not take your dog with you? There are a huge number of holiday cottages that are dog and pet friendly. If your dog is well trained you can have a relaxing break with your dog and save the cost of kennels! CLICK HERE FOR DOG FRIENDLY COTTAGES

I contacted Leeds Dog School for help in controlling our Labrador's incessant and aggressive barking at anyone who comes to the house. It had reached the point where my own mother has stopped visiting because of the din my dog makes. Rob came out and showed us a very simple technique which worked immediately and is easy for the whole family to implement and commit to. I would recommend Leeds Dog School for any of your dog's issues that need putting right.

Called Rob to help us train our Labrador puppy, whot will not do what we ask her i.e. pulls on lead, jumps up and mouths people and will not come back when called if people or dogs are around. Rob had the problems sorted within minutes and we now have a dog that is a pleasure to take for a walk. Don't waste your money going to puppy classes that are a complete waste of time, just ring Rob for a 1-2-1 lesson. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Had our first session today with Rob. It's not rocket science what you learn, it's sensible and practice lessons in dog behaviour. We love our 2 year old black Labrador, but he runs rings around us, and we are too soft. Not anymore, Rob has show us how to gain control and correct Finley. So we have less stress with our dog. Looking forward to the next session.

Firstly Rob is a very down to earth guy with a vast knowledge in working with dogs. He gave me the tools in order to correct my dogs; a lab cross who was at times showing signs of aggression and a staffy who then wanted to protect the lab when it all kicked off. I can see a huge improvement already and with the tools rob gave me ,we managed to keep this evenings walk under control. Even to call the lab back mid flight chasing a squirrel . Great guy great service

Rob came to our house to help us with our 5 year old Doberman. In less than 15 minutes he had stopped her barking when people came to the door. We've seen a massive improvement in her behaviour already since he came and can't wait for him to come back to help us tackle her response to joggers, cyclists, etc.

Rob was able to quickly demonstrate the techniques we had been lacking to get both our spaniel and wire haired pointer to walk to heel. A very simple yet effective correction that has solved 3 years of problem behaviour on the lead.

Saw Rob yesterday for the first time. On the phone I was advised that it would take one short lesson to get my Miniature Schnauzer to become obedient. Naturally, I thought 'yeah, right!'. The main problems were him barking at people who were walking past the garden and barking at other dogs and people on walks. Rob sorted these issues with ease.....how wrong was I!

Brilliant time spent with Rob who has helped make a massive difference with our cockerpoo puppy Reggie - who can be pretty bonkers at times. Rob sorted issues we were having with him straight away! It was amazing how obidiant Reggie became so quickly. Rob was really lovely, and worth every penny!! I would hugely recommend Rob and the Leeds Dog School.

We met Rob today with our 10 month Lab Retriever. She is so lovely but she does exactly what she wants. Not what we want. She rules our life. Within 15 minutes of Rob handling her on a leash we saw a different dog. She soon understood what he expected of her. He gave good, easy to follow advice. Very highly recommended. Thanks Rob.

We met Rob today with our very difficult rescue Saluki. Rob was positive and reassuring and we saw an immediate improvement with Casper. We know there is work to continue with but we are confident that we have made that elusive, important first step. Would wholeheartedly recommend Robs' services to anyone struggling with an aggressive dog.
