DOBERMAN TRAINING THROUGHOUT YORKSHIRE
Dobermans are calm and friendly dogs that form very strong bonds with their owners. They are a good choice for families as long as they are correctly trained and well socialised from a young age which is vital where this breed is concerned, they become valued members of a family and get very attached to children in a household. Doberman training is essential for these special dogs.
Dobies are renowned for their natural ability to protect and guard which they will do as soon as they settle into a new home. Dobermans tend to form a very strong bond with one person although they are always friendly with other members of the family. They are known to be quite wary of strangers which is a natural reaction for a dog that was originally bred to guard people and protect their property.
Obedience is vital for your Doberman. Having an obedient Doberman makes ownership of your pet an absolute pleasure! At Leeds Dog School our Doberman training will train your Doberman to a high level in obedience. We also believe that this should involve the owner at every stage and so our Doberman training is one to one with you and your dog. It’s important that your dog obeys your commands and respects you otherwise they can be a nightmare! Owners with an obedient Doberman get more satisfaction and have a stronger bond with their pet. Having a dog that is well trained, obedient, happy, relaxed, responsive and easy for you to manage means you will get more pleasure from dog ownership.

STOPPING BAD BEHAVIOUR
YOU CANNOT STOP BAD BEHAVIOUR WITH A TREAT-IT DOES NOT WORK!
Some trainers believe that giving a dog treats is the best way to train but in our opinion relying on treats exclusively just does not work. Your dog may learn how behave but only does it at because there's a treat at the end of it and many times treats just stop working. Essentially you are bribing the dog to behave properly. Bad behaviour by a dog makes an owner’s life a misery. Our dog training solves problems with bad behaviour as this is our speciality. Many of the problems are very common and we work with your dog and just as importantly, with you at your home or on a walk, to solve the problems.
- Stop pulling on the lead
- Stop lunging at other dogs
- Stop barking at dogs & people
- Stop jumping up at people
- Stop aggression
- Stop running away and not returning
- Stop constant barking
- Stop barking at the door
DOBERMAN PUPPY TRAINING
As well as adult Doberman training we also offer Doberman puppy training. Puppy Training of your our new Doberman puppy should be done as as soon as possible. It’s just fun for them and they love it! We train them from just a few weeks. They are taught obedience just the same as an adult dog. Then we train you so that you can keep up with it.
Training the owner is very important as you must learn the commands and the proper way to correct your puppy. This why all our training is 1-2-1 with your dog and we do not offer classes. We believe that classes involving a number of young puppies can be very distracting for your dog.

Ruth came round today to help with my two rescue dogs that wouldn’t stop barking when they saw other dogs, they also had a tendency to pull on the lead. Ruth spent an hour with us and by the end it was like we had two completely different dogs, she controlled the barking and no more pulling on the lead! Anyone looking for a dog trainer I highly recommend these guys they are amazing! Thanks again 🙂Natalie Stewart 20 Jan 2020
Ruth came out to our home tonight to help with some basic obedience training for our 11 week old minature schnauzer. As a result of the 1 hour Ruth spent with us, we are more confident dog parents. We now have tools to manage our pups mischief and will be able to solidify his crate training. Ruth explained everything in a really easy to understand way, we are really happy and will certainly call on the dog school again if we need behavioural support further down the line.Emma Slater 01 Jan 2020
Rob came over today to help us out with our 7 month old Border Collie who barked non- stop whenever someone came to our house. Within 30 minutes, he'd shown us the simple techniques to put us back into control. Rob is a credit to dog trainers - he has so much passion for his job, which must not even feel like work to him as he can just wants to pass on his knowledge. Thanks so muchAlan Simpkins 31 Dec 2019
Highly recommend Leeds School of Dogs! Had Rob visit our home today after struggling to train our year old bull dog and struggling with aggression we saw huge results within the hour! Rob was very informative making sure we could carry out the training once he had left, leaving us lots of resources to carry on our own training. Worth every penny would recommend to anyone!Catherine Taylor 21 Dec 2019
We had Ruth out today to visit with our Rottie pup and in particular his biting. She was fantastic and definitely money well spent. Can’t believe the change in a day. There are so many conflicting viewpoints available online its hard to workout the best way to do things, having Ruth and Leeds dog school in took this away and give us a clear positive path to follow.James wilson 04 Dec 2019
Would recommend to all new owners!
Highly recommend Leeds dog school! Ruth came out a couple weeks ago to help us with our Rottweiler puppy and she was amazing!! It has helped us so much to make sure we are bringing him up the right way. Ruth and Rob called in last night as a call back to make sure we felt comfortable and doing everything right! Very easy to deal with and always there if we need help!! Really couldn’t recommend them enough 🙂Becky McDonald 04 Dec 2019
We had a very productive first session with Rob today, he obviously loves his dogs and made great progress with Flo, our very anxious 3 year old doberlady. We are looking forward to continuing to implement Rob’s techniques, which he explained and persevered with us until we understood what we need to do and why. Looking forward to having a calm confident gorgeous girl. The back-up video links and service is great.Carole Bambrough-Oates 20 Nov 2019
Just finished my first session with Rob who was extremely knowledgable and passionate. Within 15 minutes he showed me how I can stop my German Shepherd barking and lunging at the door when someone knocks. Lots of practical, sensible strategies to use with Bella before we meet again next week. Rob made everything logical and clear, has good breed knowledge and left me with links to recommended videos on a range of training techniques and scenarios. Would highly recommend Rob and Leeds Dog School to anyone who is looking for balanced, effective training methods to use with their dog.Keith Bothamley 19 Nov 2019
Ruth came to our house today to help us with our 6 month old jack Russell cross, Albert. He had been bullying the cat, ignoring his name when called, getting distracted by other dogs whilst out on his walks, and generally trying to rule the roost. Ruth demonstrated some amazing techniques and Albert responded really well after just one visit. I can not recommend Leeds Dog School, and Ruth, enough. Absolutely fantastic.Amanda Blamires 14 Nov 2019
