THE CHOW CHOW
It is in the breed’s nature to be quiet and well behaved, but it is also resistant to training. Chow Chows become very stubborn and attach to certain individuals as they age. This is why training them when they are puppies is so crucial because they gain respect for those who care for them.
They are also large powerful dogs so training as soon as possible is important.
CHOW CHOW OBEDIENCE TRAINING
Obedience training is important for your Chow Chow. At Leeds Dog School we will train your dog to a high level in obedience. We also believe that this should involve the owner at every stage and so our training is one to one with you and your dog. It’s important that your dog obeys your commands and we work with you until you are confident in controlling your dog.
Owners with obedient pets get more satisfaction and have a stronger bond with their pet. As Chow Chows are large dogs owner training is vital so that the owner can enjoy having such a powerful dog around the home.

CHOW CHOW PUPPY TRAINING
TRAINING IS 1-2-1 AT YOUR HOME
Puppy Training of your new puppy should be done as as soon as possible. You’ll be amazed just how quickly they learn and at a very early age. It’s just fun for them and they love it! We train all breeds from just a few weeks. They are taught obedience just the same as an adult dog. Then we train you so that you can keep up with it.
We do not train in classes. All our training is 1-2-1 with you and your puppy at your home and where you would normally go on a walk. We are convinced that this is a much more effective way of training your puppy. We can deal with your specific problems with your puppy and your specific training requirements. We help you to train your puppy. In our opinion, this cannot be achieved in a classroom with lots of other puppies who are more interested in playing with each other than listening or learning.

STOPPING BAD BEHAVIOUR BY YOUR CHOW CHOW
Some trainers believe that giving a dog treats is the best way to train but in our opinion relying on treats exclusively just does not work particularly bad behaviour. Your dog may learn how behave but only does it at because there's a treat at the end of it and many times treats just stop working. Essentially you are bribing the dog to behave properly. Our dog training solves problems with bad behaviour as this is our speciality. Many of the problems are very common and we work with your dog and just as importantly, with you at your home or on a walk, to solve any problems you may have.
- Stop pulling on the lead
- Stop lunging at other dogs
- Stop barking at dogs & people
- Stop jumping up at people
- Stop aggression
- Stop running away and not returning
- Stop constant barking
